Are interns paid enough?

This has been a fairly discussed and debatable topic.

Internships may be paid or unpaid.

However, unpaid internships are considered ethically wrong.

A minimum salary for the work done should be paid at least as a token of appreciation and encouragement.

It is important to monetize the efforts of an intern as well.

On the contrary, most paid internships prove to be a better motivation for interns.

In India, the stipend usually ranges from ₹2,000 to ₹50,000 depending on the job description, industry, and the firm you are working for.

Unpaid internships were more common during the COVID times as well due to the budget crunches experienced by most firms.

What do you think is the advantage of a paid or unpaid internship? Which one do you support?
